If you want to replace a missing tooth, dental implants are a permanent solution. A titanium screw – the implant – is placed into the jawbone, where it integrates both functionally and structurally with the bone.
If one or more teeth are missing, chewing function is impaired, which can affect overall health. It can also cause aesthetic concerns and discomfort in everyday communication. Teeth play an essential role in maintaining jawbone structure. When teeth are missing, the bone gradually deteriorates. Since the bone supports facial muscles, its loss can lead to reduced muscle volume and an aged facial appearance, along with functional and aesthetic issues.
Dental implants are used when the following are missing:
- one tooth;
- multiple teeth;
- all teeth.
Dental implants are used when one, several, or all teeth are missing.
A dental implant with a ceramic crown is used when a single tooth is missing. When multiple teeth are missing, implants serve as supports for dental bridges. For fully edentulous patients, implants can support fixed bridges or provide stable and comfortable dentures.
Dental implants prevent jawbone loss!
Crowns, bridges, and removable dentures are conventional solutions for missing teeth, but they offer only temporary results. Dental implants preserve surrounding teeth and transfer chewing forces to the jawbone, preventing bone loss. According to modern dentistry standards, implants are the best replacement for missing teeth because they function similarly to natural teeth.

What are the advantages of dental implants?
Dental implants offer several advantages compared to bridges and dentures. Aesthetically, implants look identical to natural teeth, and patients feel as if they have their own teeth. No one will notice that you have a replacement. Implants prevent bone loss and gum recession, which often occur with dentures or bridges.
Implants preserve adjacent teeth and do not affect their structure, unlike bridges. You will be able to speak normally, eat comfortably, and regain confidence. Say goodbye to uncomfortable dentures that cause irritation and inconvenience.
Patient concerns
If you are worried about whether your body will accept a dental implant, there is no need for concern. Implants are made of biocompatible materials and are well accepted by the body. In only about 3% of cases, implant failure may occur due to improper placement, poor oral hygiene, or excessive force on the implant.
Implant placement is a surgical procedure that takes about 30 minutes. It is painless as it is performed under local anesthesia. Mild discomfort may occur in the first few hours after the procedure, but it can be easily managed with pain relief medication.
After placement, proper oral hygiene is essential. Regular brushing, flossing, and the use of oral irrigators are highly recommended. Routine dental check-ups every six months are also important.
