Who is teeth whitening recommended for?
All types of discoloration — that is, changes in the color of the tooth surface — can be removed through whitening. This is the most popular dental method for making your teeth whiter, and a radiant smile can be achieved quickly, easily, and painlessly. Since the cost of teeth whitening is now affordable for everyone, white teeth are no longer a luxury — they are a necessity.
A radiant smile is achieved using the latest techniques, and all whitening agents have been clinically tested. The American Dental Association has confirmed that these agents are highly effective and safe, as they cause no harm to the teeth or gums. Any temporary tooth sensitivity that may occur during whitening disappears within two days.
Note: Fillings, crowns, and bridges are not affected by whitening agents, so it is important to whiten your teeth first and then have any prosthetic restorations fitted. Specialists recommend waiting two weeks after whitening before proceeding with restorations.
People suffering from periodontal disease, gum recession, or sensitive teeth should not undergo teeth whitening. Whitening is also not recommended for pregnant women or those currently undergoing orthodontic treatment.
Today, a radiant smile and white teeth are easy to achieve. Our practice is equipped with the most advanced whitening methods, and we are at your disposal.
Teeth Whitening Methods
There are several different teeth whitening methods available. Whichever method you choose, you won't be disappointed — results are guaranteed. The price depends on the chosen method, and our practice offers the latest whitening technologies. The most commonly used teeth whitening methods are:
Tray/splint method for at-home teeth whitening
The tray method is a gradual and straightforward approach to teeth whitening. First, an impression of the teeth is taken, and then a custom-made carrier for the whitening gel — called a tray (splint) — is produced. The patient also uses a lower-concentration whitening toothpaste. The tray is worn at home, exclusively at night, for 7 to 10 days, and the whitening effect lasts for two years. After two years, it is recommended to repeat the whitening procedure.
In-office teeth whitening with or without laser
In-office whitening is a quick procedure performed at the clinic, and it may or may not involve the use of a dental laser. Regardless of whether a laser is used, the soft tissues must first be protected before the whitening gel is applied. When a dental laser is used, the gel is exposed to laser light, which activates the whitening agents.
Whitening without a laser involves applying the gel without laser activation. After 15 minutes, the whitening agents are removed, and in both cases the procedure is repeated two to three times. This simple and fast whitening method delivers immediate results, though its price is slightly higher than the at-home technique.
